摘要: | MPEG的建立开始于1988年,其主要的目的是希望能为视频及相关音频信号 的应用订定标准。随着标准的建立,将此标准以超大型积体电路实现便成 为目前最重要的工作。因为唯有如此,才能降低晶片设计所须之高额耗费 及同型产品间之不相容性。目前有两种流通的 MPEG标准:MPEG I,已有 商用产品被广泛应用;MPEG II,到目前为止仍仅于研究阶段,只有软体 模拟,而无硬体产品上市。 由于 MPEG II 标准所含括的应用范围更广、 更高的传输率及更好的解析度和画质,将其以硬体实现已成为目前热门的 研究主题。在本论文中, 我们主要的目的是针对 MPEG II De- Multiplexer)来完成解码端之前端资料处理及分送的工作。此解多工器之 架构以一平行输入之变动长度解码器(Parallel-Structure Variable- Length Decoder) 为基础,能在一个时钟周期内解任何长度的字码。根据 MPEG II的规格,我们规划了一个有限状态机模型 (Finite State Machine Model)来完成整个控制单元的设计。每个状态的控制信号及流程 则是由可程式逻辑阵列及逻辑闸来实现。由于可程式逻辑阵列为构成整个 系统最长路径 (Critical Path) 的主要部分,在此我们提出一些改进的 方法,如状态分割设计、将位移与字码以不同之可程式逻辑阵列同时进行 解码、 使用ESPRESSO作进一步化简以减少乘积项...等,来节省可程式逻 辑阵列的面积,因而缩短系统之最长路径。我们对整个系统作了详细的逻 辑电路设计,并已用 Verilog 硬体描述语言验证其功能之正确性. MPEG standard has been established since 1988 for coding moving pictures and associated audio applications. Therecurrent versions of MPEG standard -- MPEG I, commercialhave been used in many applications; MPEG II, till now, software simulation has been proposed, and no hardware products for commercial use. In this thesis, the main purpose is to realize for MPEG II bit stream parsing in hardware,and a DeMultiplexer for MPEG II decoder is designed. The architecture of MPEG II DeMultiplexer is based on a parallel-structure variable length decoder which can decode all of the codewords in one clock cycle regardless of their length. According to the MPEG II syntax specification, we propose a finite state machine model to implement the control part of the DeMultiplexer. Control flow of each state is designed by PLA and random logic. The size of PLA is reduced by using state partition, separation of decoding of length and codeword, and employing ESPRESSO nreduction. The details of gate-level circuit design are given, and theare verified by Verilog Hardware Description Language. |
