MHEG在DAVIC Set Top Box高階應用介面上的實現

Abstract

為了使多媒體通訊系統有一個統一的標準，所以DAVIC 1.0 制定了一 些相關的介面和工具來達成這個理想。在服務消費系統(service consumer system)中，DAVIC 1.0使用了MHEG作為Set Top Box的高階應用 程式介面。MHEG是ISO定義給多媒體和超媒體資料的交換格式，目的是希 望能達到與應體無關和即時性的要求。在這□我們希望能夠按照DAVIC 1.0的規格和MHEG標準，實現出一套以MHEG為基礎的高階應用程式介面， 好作為Set Top Box 的應用基礎。我們這套測試系統是建構在Sun的工作 站上，所用的環境是X 視窗。而此系統是由三個部份所組成：一套簡單的 編輯系統、一個MHEG的執行引擎和使用者介面。這三部份中，又以MHEG執 行引擎為最重要的部份。整個MHEG引擎可分成五部份：關聯管理者(Link Manager)、動作管理者(Action Manager)、時序規畫者(Time Scheduler) 、使用者界面管理者(User Interface Manager)以及MHEG物件解碼器。在 這論文中我們將會先介紹DAVIC和MHEG的基本概念，然後再說明我們所完 成的這套簡化過的MHEG系統以及使用這系統的應用程式。 DAVIC 1.0 specifies the interfaces and tools for multimedia communication systems, in which MHEG is adopted as the high level API for Set Top Box. Following the DAVIC 1.0 specification and the MHEG standard, we implementthe high level API of an MHEG-based Set-Top-Box. Our simulation system is build on Sun workstations under the X-window environment. It consists of 3 parts: a simple authoring tool, an MHEG runtime engine, and a user interface. There are 5 elements in the MHEG runtime engine: a link manager, an action manager, a time scheduler, a user interface manager and an MHEG object decoder. In this thesis we will describe the basic concepts of DAVIC and MHEG and our implementation of a simplified MHEG system.
