dc.description.abstract在ATM網路中,要建立發送端和接收端之間的連線,交換機是不可或缺的。 通常一個封包從進入網路到它到達目的地為止,必須經過多級的標頭轉換, 這些標頭轉換的工作是由交換機來執行。ATM交換機主要的工作有兩件事, 一是在網路中執行虛擬路徑(VPI)和虛擬頻道(VCI)的轉換;另外一件事則 是將封包正確地由交換機的輸入埠送至輸出埠。這篇論文主要是根據ATOM 交換機的架構加以改良而設計製作的。ATOM交換機是屬於輸出暫存器的交 換機,在每個輸出埠中均有一個分時多工的匯流排和一些先進先出記憶體( FIFO),而對於優先權控制和多點傳播連線的提供,它的架構也相當簡單。 在本論文中,我們使用Xilinx公司的FPGA晶片來設計和製作交換機的線路, 此線路最後必須經過時序模擬的驗證通過才算完成。 In an ATM network,to establish a connection between a source- desitination pair,several switches are involed.Header translation is necessary for every switch.Two main tasks can be identified for an ATM switch,one is VPI/VCI translation,the other is cell transporting from its input to its desired outputs.Thisthesis is to design and implement an ATM switch modified from the "ATOM" (ATMOutput buffer Modular switch) switch system.The ATOM switch is an output-queueswitch and it has a time-division multiplexed bus and FIFO buffers or individualoutput port.It has a simple control structure for providing a priority schemeand multicast service.We use Xilinx's "FPGA" (Field Programmable Gate Array)chip to design and implement circuits. The designed circuits are verified by Timing simulation.zh_TW
