隨選視訊系統之設計與實作於ATM網路 研究生：游順益 指導教授：陳耀宗 國立交通大學資訊工程研究所 摘要 網路與多媒體 技術在這幾年內發展相當快速,使得隨 選視訊在今日成為可行。隨選視 訊使得人們可以在任 何時間透過網路選擇且播放想看的影片,然而透過 網 路傳送及時影像需要佔用許多網路頻寬及系統資源。 如何利用有限 資源以獲得最佳效益是我們研究與設計 之重點。在這篇論文中,我們設 計並且實作一隨選視 訊系統於ATM網路。 Design and Implementation of a VOD system on ATM Network Student: Shun-I You Advisor: Dr. Yaw-Chung Chen Institute of Computer Science and Information Engineering National Chiao Tung University Abstract In recent years, we have experienced fast evolution in both networking and multimedia technologies. These advances cause the new application video-on-demand (VOD) possible. In a VOD system, users can select a video through the network and play it out any time. For the sake of high bandwidth requirement from network and large buffer needed to transfer and store the video, we have to calculate how many streams a system can support and what is the limitation. In this thesis, we present the design, analysis, and implementation of a VOD system on the ATM Network.
