摘要:   隨著傳播媒體的發達,資料型態日益多元化,資料量也越來越大, 現代的資料庫必須要能夠處理這種大型資料上的問題,而二元大型物件的 主要目的就是用來儲存這類型資料的儲存格式. 一般而言,設計二元 大型物件的時候,必須要考慮到許多層面的問題,包括磁碟存取,緩衝區 管理,儲存資料結構,多工協同控制與潰損回復等等的問題,因此我們將 會對以上的問題作一個討論與分析. 在我們的系統中,將會利用兩種 方法來實作CACTUS中儲存資料的結構,另外還會提出一個類似磁碟陣列的 多伺服器二元大型物件的概念,以加速二元大型物件的存取;此外由於 CACTUS是一個對等式的物件導向儲存器,因此我們還會在論文中針對二元 大型物件在快取區與網路傳輸時的影響,做一些討論. As the communication media progress through time, all kinds of information grow in variety and the quantity of data grows in size. Therefore, modern database needs to be capable of dealing with large quantity of data and that is exactly the purpose of designing Binary Large Object - to store this particular type of data. When designing BLOB, We have to consider about many aspects of problem such as disc, buffer management, data structure, concurrency control and recovery. Later, we will discuss and analyze those questions above. In this project, we will apply two methods to implement the data storage structure of Collaborated Autonomous Chiao-Tung Universal Storage System. Moreover, we will present another multi-server BLOB structure, which is similar to disc array, to speed up the access of BLOB. As CACTUS is a peer-to-peer object oriented storage, we will present discussion in cache and network transformation of BLOB in this thesis.
