This research is to explain the realtionship between R&D workers’ internet use, information anxiety and job performance. The researcher tried to find out how R&D workers using internet, and their information anxiety and job performance. Besides, this research intended to find out the relationship between these three elements. A questionnaire survey was conducted among the R&D workers in ITRI. The results indicate that those R&D workers use internet quite often. They use internet to search the information relative to their work. The channels they most frequently use are WWW, Email, and BBS. 36% of R&D workers have the information anxiety problem. Over-loaded information always makes them anxious. According to the self-report data, most R&D workers’ performance is satisfatory. Although there is no significant realtionship bewteen time of using internet and job performance, the result shows that if workers use WWW or Email for searching information relative to their work and communicate, their job performance will be better than others. And if workers spend most time on BBS, their performance may be below the average. The relationship between information anxiety and job performance is not obvious, but the results shows that if R&D workers suffer from information anxiety, they may perform not so well on their job. |
