dc.description.abstract | Based on the structure of substrate-mode holograms, a new type of 1-to-(N x N) optical fan-out module which consists of two layers of grating arrays for optical interconnects is presented. The first and second layer have a I x N grating array and a N x N grating array, respectively. By suitably choosing the diffracted angle and diffraction efficiency of every grating, similar diffraction will be performed repeatedly at every grating.
