摘要: | 行动计算的目标是无论何时何地都能提供使用者无所不在的资讯服务。在异质环境中,目前依然没有一种有效的方法可以提供行动主机无接缝式地换手到一个最好的网路上。在本论文中,我们一开始先回顾一些现存于无线网路的换手及资料重新递送的方法。在异质行动计算环境下,我们提出一个基于使用者需求的换手策略,以期行动主机透过一个最合适的平台来存取网路。这种跨平台的换手策略需要在各种系统的网路承载率、传输速率、移动率及电力耗损之间作取舍。我们的方法整合几个曾经应用于公众地面行动网路中的策略: 分割、区域主播及二段式换手。本设计的主要构想是依使用者对网路的需求,如频宽、移动率及延迟,来选取适当的网路平台。当一个行动主机向一个远端代理者注册时,该远端代理者会依使用者的需求层次,决定是否需要向上层主要远端代理者注册或是直接服务该行动主机。藉由主要远端代理者在近端的协助,我们可以预先传递使用者资料到下一个远端代理者,以减少换手时所造成的传输延迟。我们的方法提供行动主机一个更有弹性的方式去选取一个适合的行动计算环境,而且比其他方法使用更少的网路频宽。模拟结果显示,我们的方法可以有效地降低垂直换手的次数,及在连线时间不长的情况下,可以减少连线费用。 Information anywhere is the vision of mobile computing. There is still no feasible method to seamlessly handoff a mobile host (MH) to the best network at anytime and anywhere in heterogeneous environments. In this thesis, we first review existing handoff and data rerouting schemes used in wireless networks. We propose a requirement-enable handoffs scheme in heterogeneous mobile computing environments to fit a connection with a right platform, and to make tradeoff among network characteristics, such as network capacity, transmission speed, mobility, and power consumption. We incorporate the partitioning, local anchoring, and two-step handoff schemes which have been used in public land mobile network (PLMN), in our approach. The basic idea of our design is to choose a right plateform by user's requirements, such as bandwidth, mobility, and latency. When an MH registers to a foreign agent (FA), the FA would decide to register to an anchor FA at the next higher level, or to serve the MH directly. In addition, with the help of anchor FA, we can pre-route user data to next FA to reduce handoff latency. Our approach provides a more flexible way for an MH to select a suitable mobile computing environment, and uses bandwidth more effective than other approaches. Simulation results support that our approach can reduce the number of vertical handoffs, and also can reduce the connection fee when user connection time is not too long. |
