付費電視系統的機頂盒啟動管理方法

Abstract

本篇論文主要是敘述付費電視系統的機頂盒(Set Top box)啟動管理方法。主要目的是探討以資料壓縮方法及機頂盒(Set Top box)接收訊息的程序控制方法達到機頂盒啟動管理功能。本論文的內容包括有，分析機頂盒(Set Top box)啟動管理問題發生原因、文獻的探討及解決機頂盒(Set Top box)啟動管理問題的方法。主要重點是啟動管理設計中所應用的資料壓縮方法與程序控制技巧。

This thesis describes how to control over Set-Top-Box for restricting non-permitted users to access to pay TV programs. To satisfy this purpose, techniques of data compression are applied to transmit necessary information for permission control. The compressed data are part of input data demanded by the reset procedure. And the reset data will be routinely broadcast to every box. The method proposed in this thesis solves the problem under investigation, but it demands more computation just before each broadcast of the reset data. This drawback is, nevertheless, tolerable, taking advantage of the greatly enhanced power of modern computers.v
