dc.description.abstract | A kiosk is a computer with a screen housed in a tight casing with the intention to provide information or enable transactions at any time and anywhere. The kiosk focuses on accessibility, usability and acceptability to facilitate usage of applications and services creating competitive advantages for the corporation and provide convenient customers and corporation interactions. My thesis targets the design of a kiosk for office use and evaluates consumers’ perceptions of the kiosk’s design and application attractiveness. In addition, this research also evaluates consumers’ perceptions of the kiosk system solutions to provide information about office worker at offices and to purchase breakfast on a kiosk at a breakfast franchise. To design the kiosk system, it requires changes and improvements of office and breakfast franchise business processes to interrelate with the kiosk system. Financial justifications are derived to show that the kiosks and its system solutions for office use and as a drive-through ordering system at breakfast franchises are profitable to implement in practice. The research study confirms that kiosk design characteristic of style is perceived as preferable on kiosks in office use. Moreover, use of a kiosk is more preferable than go to a reception to obtain office worker information. The proposed kiosk systems for offices and breakfast franchises are less costly than existing systems. | zh_TW |
