dc.description.abstract可程式化PCI介面之輸出入裝置 學生:蔡宗佑 指導教授:黃宇中 教授 國立交通大學電機資訊學院 電子與光電學程﹙研究所﹚碩士班 摘要 隨著科技的進步,積體電路的製程邁向奈米時代,造就了個人電腦的核心-CPU,運算處理速度愈來愈快,因此無論是前端匯流排、南北橋晶片間的匯流排與I/O匯流排等的傳輸速度都必須隨之提升。舊有的I/O匯流排,如ISA、EISA、Micro Channel…等匯流排規格已經不符合現在的傳輸速度要求。因此傳輸速度更快、資料傳輸更穩定、作業系統相容性更高的匯流排規格被發展出來。PCI匯流排就是在要求速度與穩定性的情況下,發展出來的新一代I/O匯流排規格。PCI擴充槽是現在個人電腦與工業電腦主機板上的必備要要項,也因此各種不同功能的PCI介面卡被設計出來,應用於I/O之間的資料傳輸。 現行的PCI介面卡,不外乎使用專用的PCI控制晶片,或是利用現成的PCI核心智慧財產權加上應用線路開發成ASIC,來完成整個介面卡功能的設計,如此可以專心於應用線路的開發,以縮短開發的時間與金錢,我們將以此進行深入與詳盡的研究。zh_TW
dc.description.abstractA Programmable PCI Interfaced I/O Device Student:Tsai,Tsung-Yu Advisor:Prof. Yu-Chung Huang Degree Program of Electrical Engineering Computer Science National Chiao Tung University Abstract Following the improvement of technologies and moving forward to the nanometer age of integrated circuits’ process, the computing speed of CPU, the core of PC, has been faster and faster. Hence, the transmitting speed of the Front Bus, the buses between South and North Bridge Chipsets, and I/O Bus have to be progressed. The existing I/O bus specification, for instance, ISA, EISA, Micro Channel, cannot meet today’s requirement in term of speed. Thus, more advanced bus specification, with higher speed, more stable data transmission, and higher compatibility, has been developed. Coming out as a new generation bus specification, PCI Bus is the result from the strict requirement of speed and stability. PCI extension slot is now a necessary item in personal computers and motherboard of industrial computers. Furthermore, various of PCI interface cards with multifunction has been designed, applying to the data transmission between I/Os. By either utilizing special PCI control chips or employing existing PCI kernel IP with application circuits to develop ASIC, today’s PCI interface cards can achieve the design of the function for interface cards. Therefore, engineers can concentrate on the development of application circuitries, shortening time and cost in R&D. With this topic, we are going to do deeper and more detailed research.en_US
