| zh_TW |
dc.description.abstract | As time passes by, our memory and life fade away. They never disappear, only changed their forms of being. And we see their continuity in fading. This thesis discusses my art work from 2011 to 2013 during my graduate study. Within the context of my life, I ask ‘How do I begin my subject of nature and use the nature material?’ I observed my art making process in which I was wondering how my mind changes and try to find the essence of my work. I go deeply into my body and soul searching for my inner self through art making and reflection. “Faded Memory” is a figure that is made of my handmade paper and watercolor painting. It is also an artist’s book”. I used handmade paper, bookbinding techniques, and watercolor to rebuild the memory and feelings between my grandma and me. In other words, it transmits my grandma’s intrinsic spirit. At the same time, I search for the long-term emotion and memory history within people and books. “Leaves” is a series of light box installation. I created a tree as a main character that it has inner monologues. The leaves, as a path, unleashed the tree’s deepest feeling, though the tree was cut down at the end. Yet, it becomes a book, a chair or a table. In a way, it changes its form of life and continues its journey. | en_US |
