Virtual Museum has the advantage of ease of access to enable users to explore the
information about exhibits or collections, users can learn and interact with other virtual
visitors without visiting the physical Museum. However, current virtual museum systems
have been designed by the view of demand-oriented of knowledge owners, the systems did
not consider the social interaction between knowledge owners and knowledge reconstructors,
resulting in the systems’ functions can not satisfy the needs of users’ experience sharing.
In this thesis, the concept of development of virtual museum system is based on user-
centered design, using Lead User Method to collect the scenario of using and users’
requirements. In the system-developing step, we transform the user needs into experience
sharing function’s design features by using lead user workshop. Then, we applied the concept
of PACT to build the framework of virtual museum system functions in mobile device. In
order to understanding the potential users’ preferences, this thesis applies Kano-model
Questionnaire. At last, we use cross-analysis to verify the differences in user needs of
different groups, and as recommendations on functional development strategy.
