zh_TW
The research mainly discuss the transportation experience and motivation of audiences who were exposed to novel and its adapted film due to the content similarity between novel and adapted film. Therefore, the research designed an experiment and interview to study this topic. Study 1 uses experiment as the research method, it focuses on the existence of the elements which affect transportation. The result shows that the order of exposure will not affect the transportation. Then, there are four elements will affect the transportation, a) similarity of content, b) audiences’ likeliness upon characters, c) need for cognition, d) imagery ability. Study 2 uses in-depth interview as the research method, which mainly talks about the motivation of audiences and also wants to testify the conclusion from study 1. The result reveals some differences from study 1. The participants point out that watching film followed by reading novel provided the greatest transportation. The result also shows that the likeliness upon characters are easily changed due the reading after watching. The participants also wish that the film can make some innovation base on the novel’s construct.en_US
