dc.description.abstractIn this thesis we investigate the degree-of-freedom (DoF) region of a two-user MIMO interference channel without channel state information at the transmitters. Following the work of Huang, Jafar, and Shamai, we distinguish three types of channels based on the numbers of transmit and receive antennas. We derive the DoF region for a power-split scheme followed by a SIC decoder. We also improve an outer bound by Huang et. al. on the DoF region for a specific type of MIMO interference channels. We extend our discussion to two-user MIMO interference channels with perfect receiver cooperation and compare the result to two-user interference without cooperation.en_US
