摘要: 在一般传统的液晶显示面板的制造过程中,配向制程是将聚亚醯胺薄膜经过纤维绒毛高速刷磨后,使液晶沿着刷磨方向进行排列而形成均匀的配向,但此以纤维绒毛刷磨的制程方式会有刷痕、微粒、静电及于大面积时有不均匀的缺点。为消除此传统制程上的缺点及提升液晶显示器产品的制程品质,因此本论文尝试以非接触式的离子束配向技术,探讨配向制程应用可能性之讨论,以类钻碳膜做为液晶显示器内的配向膜,并且以氩离子束进行配向试验,组成液晶显示元件,并进行电性特性测试与量测。经实验结果显示,以类钻碳-离子配向之液晶显示面板之电压维持率大于97%,残留直流电压小于500mV,锚定能大于1.0×10-5 J/m2,皆符合液晶显示面板电性特性上之需求。藉此证明类钻碳-离子束配向技术是一项可取代一般传统所使用的聚亚醯胺-机械定向刷磨技术,同时可使液晶显示器能得到较好显示品质能力的制造技术。
In the conventional process of LCD panel fabrication, the alignment layer(Polyimide)was usually made by rubbing method, however, there were some drawbacks of this procedure including scratches, debris and ESD.
The study is the alignment layer made of diamond-like carbon by the non-contact-type ion beam alignment technology in order to improve the quality of LCD product.According to these results, it is apparent that the voltage holding ratio higher than 97%, the residual direct current lower than 500mV and the anchoring energy higher than 1.0×10-5 J/m2 were obtained when the alignment layer made by the ion beam alignment technology.
In contrast with traditional PI-rubbing technology, the DLC-IBA technology is a remarkable method to obtain better quality and higher yield of product.
