由提升糖尿病視網膜病變篩檢率來探討眼科診所參與社區醫療之策略

Abstract

糖尿病視網膜病變是眼科常見的疾病，早期並無症狀，一但發生病變，如無適當的處理，其所產生的後遺症往往難以補救。因此事先的篩檢、預防，早期發現，早期治療，不僅降低患者失明的比例，減輕社會付出成本，也減少政府醫療的負擔，因此如何提升糖尿病視網膜病變篩檢率，是不容忽視的重要課題。眼科診所也可利用參與篩檢的機會，加入社區醫療，建立新的平台，提供民眾就醫、健康諮詢、轉診追蹤和完整醫療照護服務，如此為患者創造新的價值，為基層眼科診所在醫療市場上，開創新的藍海。

Diabetic retinopathy is a common ophthalmology disease. While there are no early symptoms, without proper cure it may cause serious complications. Therefore if patients could have early detection with preventive diagnosis and treatment, it would not only decrease their blindness rate but also attenuate the overall social cost dramatically. Ophthalmology clinics can join the community medical system to gain an access to the screening of the fundus of diabetic patients for early detection of retinopathy. As such, the National Health Insurance (NHI) system in Taiwan could build up an integrative health service platform by tracing diabetic patients. It would cost less but provide a better medical care than the current practices.
