摘要: 第一期晶片系統國家型計畫,全面推廣SoC 技術。三年多以來,就人才培育、前瞻技術、SoC 設計三方面已達到相當程度的效益。台灣設計產業2004 年的年產值達到2,565 億台幣,較2003 年成長36.6%,為半導體產業中表現最為亮麗的一個領域。然而一個能影響全球的產業技術,需長期深耕,因此,晶片系統國家型計畫第二期以五年(2006~2010)為規劃,以『創造優質生活之兆級多元整合技術』 (Heterogeneous Giga-Scale Integration for Better Life) 為執行主軸。目標在以推動半導體產業升級為手段,達成建立優質生活家園的目標。本計畫之主要目標在於創新產品的開發、前瞻技術的整合、與人才環境的全球化,居於「矽晶圓製造為根,晶片系統設計為幹,創造優質生活為果」的基本精神,因而規劃三個分項,作為長期努力的目標,另規劃三個專案作為橫向整合,以滿足短期技術的需求。分項一: 以創新產品為導向之系統整合技術分項二:以前瞻技術為導向之晶片整合技術分項三:前瞻SoC 設計人才養成與環境建構目前以我國最急迫發展的技術,選定三個專案作為橫向整合: 專案一:射頻與混合訊號電路設計(RF and Mixed Signal Circuit Design) 專案二:嵌入式軟體(Embedded Software) 專案三:異質整合技術(SiP/MEMS/Sensor Integration)
The Si-Soft, National SoC Program, 2006~2010 1. Preface In the last three decades, Taiwan's semiconductor industry has become a unique global phenomenon. Recently, however, lower manufacturing costs in developing economies such as China and India have begun to erode Taiwan's dominance in the sector. Taiwan's IC industry must begin to deliver superior designs and not rely exclusively on its low-cost manufacturing ability. To achieve a truly global influence, it must have the improvement of human welfare as its central aim. Thus, we set up the goal of the National SoC Program as "Heterogeneous Giga-Scale Integration for Better Life" to improve the quality of life for everybody. 2. Contents Our Heterogeneous Giga-Scale Integration for Better Life theme has three main objectives: to create innovative SoC products, to integrate advanced technology, and to globalize local talent. To achieve these, we plan three programs for longer-term issues and three task forces to address short-term needs. Program 1: Innovative SoC Product Technology A Heterogeneous Network Integration Develop seamless and ubiquitous networking for mobility B e-Life and the Digital Home Produce entertaining and educational products based on multimedia and networking technology C e-Health and Life Care Create networked health monitoring for everybody and living assistance for the elderly Program 2: Advanced SoC Design Technology A Advanced IP Development Enrich IPs, especially essential and "star" IP, to help to address the design engineer shortage B Heterogeneous Integration (CMOS/MEMS/SiP, D/A/RF) Integrate logic, AMS, and RF for low power and low cost, and integrate CMOS, MEMS, and sensors for healthcare applications C Hardware and Software Co-Design Platforms Enrich platform-based system-level design through embedded software technology for creative e-Home, e-life, and e-health applications Program 3: Advanced SoC Design Infrastructure A SoC Education Improvement and Talent Incubation Project Educate high-quality engineers and develop world-renowned researchers through international cooperation and exchange B Emerging SoC Design Service Business and Infrastructure Promote Taiwan as a global SoC design center based on its comprehensive SoC design and manufacturing infrastructure Task Force 1: RF and Mixed Signal Circuit Design Enrich essential RF and AMS IPs that comply with international standards in wireless communications Task Force 2: Embedded Software Technology Promote embedded software technologies that will reduce development time and improve hardware/software integration on SoCs Task Force 3: Heterogeneous Integration Technology Develop integration technologies to combine CMOS, MEMS, and sensors on a single chip 3 Goals Design technologies: increase papers published in top journals and conferences to show our strength and depth in design capability Integration technologies: design and fabricate chips with MEMS and sensors integrated to support e-health and e-life applications System technologies: nurture innovative world-class products to evolve from a quick follower to a market leader Emerging businesses: build a global SoC design service infrastructure through successful SoC development projects Global markets: explore the global mainstream e-life and digital home market through the integration of computer, communication, consumer, and content Globalization: emphasize international cooperation and contribute to and play a role in the global community
