摘要: 本篇論文旨在探討台灣與歐美商學院在永續課程設計的差異,研究方法採用質化研究方法與量化研究方法並行,期能突破兩種研究方法本質上的限制,首先以質化研究方法之內容分析法,針對各商學院之課程與教學網頁進行內容分析,並進一步針對分析結果進行量化研究之統計相關檢定;本研究的樣本為台灣92所商學院,美國前100大商學院,歐洲前100大商學院,共292所商學院。 本篇論文之主要貢獻可分為量與質方面,在量方面,文獻上指出過去大多數的實證研究,樣本多侷限於個別的地區(如歐盟,美洲)或國家(美國,英國)之探討,且研究方法多採用問卷為主,是而研究結果常因樣本數與其區域性的受限,在探討上有所侷限;然而,永續教育為一全球性的議題而且在課程安排上有明顯的地域與文化差異,因此不應只以單一區域或單一國家進行研究,因此,本研究採用一個最具有樣本代表性而且跨區域的研究對象進行實證探討,故以台灣與歐美為研究樣本,進行商學院永續課程的比較。
The purpose of this study is to investigate the extensiveness of the following differences between business schools in Taiwan and developed countries such as European Union (EU) and United States (US) in terms of educational approaches for sustainability. The topics include the following: (a) number of sustainability-related courses per schools between Taiwan and developed countries (b) sustainability-related courses curriculum design and arrangement between Taiwan and developed countries (c) content of sustainability-related courses, and (d) teaching methods in sustainability-related courses. A total of 292 business schools formed the research sample (31.5% from Taiwan, 34.3% from the US and 34.2% from the EU). This research adopts the combination of content analysis along with correlation analysis. This research allows the Taiwanese business practitioners to have a better sense of the status of sustainability education in Taiwan. This research also supplements the deficiency of the current literature in terms of sample size and the scope of the sample coverage. In addition, this is also a rare attempt to compare the differences between sustainability education in Taiwanese business schools and developed nations.
