User-Generated E-Books from Facebook Contents

Abstract

Facebook platform offers rich APIs and has a huge number of users and user-generated contents. This paper presents our mobile Facebook application on Android, called DEFAC, which turns Facebook contents into an ePub file step by step. Users can therefore bring contents with them for offline-reading. We expect that the interactions of e-reader\'s users and social reading services may become new important applications for both social-network services and e-book industry in the near future.
