This research focuses on providing a dynamic model for collaborative R&D based on the open innovation concept. Particularly, a symbiosis model of Lotka-Volterra approach is used to analyze the cooperative R&D relationship between the innomediaries (innovation intermediaries) and their technology clients, the patent seekers, to share their technology portfolio in the open innovation process. The study will discuss the role of innomediaries in open innovation and develop a symbiosis model to assume the growth rate, growth limitation, and positive interaction effect of both technology seekers and innomediaries, for best discussing the market dynamics in four scenarios with different initial market values. Simple numerical examples will also be adopted to demonstrate the utility of this model and propose the strategic suggestion of different mutualism relationship between a technology seeker and an innomediary.en_US
