Web enabled programming for semantically integrated services

Abstract

The Web's distributed nature and emphasis on document representation has resulted in the Web's phenomenal growth rate, but also has made it increasingly difficult to locate, organize, and integrate information and services. This paper describes SIMS(Simple Information Management Service), which provides a framework for building services in XML markup. Service providers can create, deploy and host their services on a SIMS server. Users of the services can access them in a semantically integrated manner.
