dc.description.abstractConsider the unstable linear multivariable systems. The model reduction algorithm based on balancing and truncation technique for unstable systems will be given. If the unstable system can be ''balanced,'' then the balancing and truncation algorithm gives a reduced order model which (i) has the same number (McMillan degree) of unstable poles as the original model, and (ii) has an error bound which is similar to the case where the system is stable.en_US
