In this paper the noise effects on the period-doubling route in deeply modulated laser diodes were investigated. The dynamics were studied by employing the single-mode rate equations with consideration of Langevin noise. It was identified that the period-doubling event in laser diodes had a virtual Hopf precursor and was enhanced by the existed Langevin noise.en_US
