無晶圓廠IC設計服務模式之競爭力研究

Abstract

無晶圓設計服務模式是近十多年來在繼晶圓代工模式後另一項重要的革命性產業模式創新。這種模式適時的填補了晶圓代工壯大之後留下的服務缺口，讓以往受到晶圓代工悉心照顧的無晶圓設計公司有了另一敷育者。 本研究基於對此模式的興趣，嘗試從就其客戶和夥伴的角度來瞭解其競爭力源自何處，並找出其階段性策略發展的路徑。

The Fabless ASIC Service model is a revolution in semiconductor industry after Wafer Foundry model prevailed in the past decade. The reason is that as the Wafer Foundrys continue to grow bigger and bigger, their focus shifted to serving larger volume customers rather than emerging customers. This Fabless ASIC model then has been a succeeding force to incubate small Fabless companies. This study is trying to understand the competitiveness of Fabless ASIC houses, not from within, but from their customers’ and partners’ angles, hoping to identify their future paths to success.
