摘要: 本研究主旨是探討台灣大型IC設計公司的研發投入、研發品質(專利權)與經營績效之關係的影響,並檢視在中國大陸培植IC產業後是否對台灣大型IC設計公司造成影響。 首先,使用美國專利局專利權資料庫和台灣經濟新報社資料庫實證,探討專利權存量和研發投入產出和公司經營績效之關係。再應用Cobb-Douglas form 作為實際產出的代理模型,以觀察台灣大型IC設計公司之資源投入對經營績效之彈性,並以Chow檢定中國大陸亦投入IC設計產業後,對台灣大型IC設計公司之影響。 實證的結果顯示,研發投入是影響IC設計公司績效的重要因素,而專利權則不明顯。此外,在西元2000年前後,台灣大型IC設計產業者的研發投入與經營績效之關係,並沒有明顯受到影響。
This study was to investigate the correlation and impact on R&D quality (patent right), R&D expenditures and operational performance to Taiwan’s IC design firms after China government promotes the IC industry. First, the databases from USPTO (U.S. Patent and Trademark Office) and TEJ (Taiwan Economic Journal) were applied to testify the relationship between the patent stocks, the R&D expenditures and the operational performance of Taiwan’s IC design firms. Second, take Cobb-Douglas form as actual output model to observe the flexibility of input resources and operational performance of IC design firms in Taiwan. The Chow model was also applied to study the impact on Taiwan’s IC design firms after China involved in the same industry. The result indicated that the R&D input was one of the important factors that affect large scaled Taiwan’s IC design firms while patent did not have obvious effect on this. Besides, the relationship between the R&D expenditures and the operational performance of Taiwan’s IC design firms was not obvious changed around year 2000.
