作者與學術期刊對機構典藏態度之研究

Abstract

摘要 在網際網路的社會，數位化已成為一股潮流，相較於一般人慣常將自身的研究成果呈現在個人網頁上，大學更有需要將其研究社群的學術研究成果加以整合，以數位化的型式做整體的呈現，機構典藏是目前最常用的方式之一。 本研究首先透過文獻分析來了解機構典藏與大學之間的關係、機構典藏產生的效益、有效的推廣模式等。其次以深度訪談法訪談國立清華大學10位教授，探究研究社群對機構典藏的理解和意見。由於學術期刊為機構典藏全文文獻的重要來源，本研究繼而以立意抽樣的方式，問卷調查國內學術期刊，取得40份回收樣本進行分析。歸納本研究結果有以下的發現： (1)機構典藏可成為大學提昇學術能見度的助力。 (2)清華大學的研究社群對校內機構典藏的理解，可透過溝通來增強。 (3)釐清著作權議題對機構典藏的文獻徵集有正面的助益。 (4)國內學術期刊對機構典藏的授權參與有正面的意願。 文獻的質量是用來評估機構典藏是否成功的關鍵之一，在大學中研究社群及學術期刊對機構典藏是否有足夠的理解與支持，是否願意授權全文均為重要因素。根據本研究結果，提出以下4點建議： (1)以作者的行銷建議與溝通，來改善機構典藏在大學中理解與參與度不高的問題。 (2)由上而下有效整合大學內學術研究成果，整體呈現在機構典藏以提升大學國際學術能見度。 (3)提供明確的著作權合理使用規範和政策，以改善大學研究社群與學術期刊提供全文的障礙。 (4)加強大學研究社群和學術期刊全文授權和參與意願，有效提升文獻徵集的質量，以增強機構典藏在大學中運作效能，以此成為推升大學學術能見度的助力。

In the modern internet society, digitizing is now becoming a trend. Compared to the general public of displaying the papers on their personal website, Universities need to create a uniform platform for collecting, maintaining, preserving and presenting the research outcomes in a digitized manner. Building an Institutional Repository (IRs) is one feasible solution and is one of the most popularly used means

Firstly, literature analysis is used to understand the relationship between IRs and the University; the benefits derived from the use of IRs; and the effective promotional method. Secondly, in-depth interview method is used to interview ten professors, exploring their understanding and suggestions toward the IRs. Questionnaires were collected from forty randomly selected academic journal publishers, investigating their attitude toward the IRs.

According to the research results, the findings are: (1) The IRs could bring benefits for the University’s academic visibility. (2) To develop the attitude and realization of the researchers toward the use of IRs in the University thorugh the communication. (3) To sort out the subject of intellectual property have positive benefits toward the IR’s documents collection. (4) The academic journal publishers in Taiwan have positive attitude toward the IRs.

The way to evaluate the intellectual of the IRs is the quantity of research documents in the system. The literary property right of these documents is the key factor to whether the University researchers or the academic journal publishers have sufficient understanding and support to the IRs.

According to the research conclusions, here are the suggestions: (1) Use author’s marketing suggestion and communication to improve and enhance the researchers’ understanding and participation in the IRs. (2) Effectively integrate the intellectual output from top to bottom. Ensemble presentation in the IRs to increase the University’s international academic visibility. (3) To offer a decided policy of intellectual property and its regulations in order to improve the researcher and academic journal publishers’ willingness to provide research documents. (4) To reinforce the author and the academic journal publishers’ willingness to authorize and participate, which will effectively increase the deposit number of papers in the IRs. In this way, it will strengthen the operation of IRs in the University and support in the promotion of the University’s academic visibility.
