VCO is the important part of RFIC. RF front-end is the wireless LAN block soul of the radio receiver. The research is mainly using LC-tank VCO. By the signals transmit through the up-down conversion, left-right conversion to make the performance better and better. The research is 20GHz high frequency, low power design in 0.18 m CMOS technology. Using the circuits can represent the phase angle in different type.Setting only single circuit is the first step. And according to the ring voltage-controlled-oscillator theorem, adding the left-right、up-down symmetric circuits into the circuit structure can give the special performance compare result. The structure circuit is composed of a complementary cross-couple voltage-controlled-oscillator. The performance compared from the single、cross-couple、up-down cross-couplecircuits. The phase noise is separately -93.28@1MHz、-101.0@1MHz、-105.4@1MHz. The FOM is -168 dBz/Hz、-175 dBz/Hz、-185 dBz/Hz. The chip area is separately 0.5X0.5 mm2、0.5X0.8 mm2、0.5X0.9 mm2. And they also supply from 1.8V. The additional parts discuss the relationship of inverter, frequency synthesizer, RC Elmore Delay model voltage-controlled-oscillator structure. From the electronics, the 741 OP is structured by the different components which are worked in their position. Setting the characters into the Voltage-Controlled-Oscillator structure, the frequency synthesizers need switch so adding the CMOS inverter as switches. Composing all of inverter characters can make the structure. And according to the DRC rule, it needs many capacitors to follow the rule. By using RC Elmore Delay model can make the DRC rule easily.
