摘要: 資訊和通訊技術帶給人類生活令人印象深刻的改變。今天網路技術已經進入了雲端時代;很多資源在未來能被投入到雲端使用。然而,典型的雲端(或群集)儲存系統是由多個元數據伺服器及存儲伺服器組成。儲存雲端的建構成本還是很高,並且需要大量具管理工作的硬體。在這篇論文中,我們提出了一個新的系統架構,在典型的雲端儲存系統中使用網路附加儲存設備(NAS)取代儲存伺服器。使用NAS不僅可以減少建構儲存於端的成本,也可以降低系統管理者的管理負擔。 另外,我們透過兩個實驗,根據註冊不同大小及不同數目的檔案,測試其所需花費的時間,及當NameNode出現故障時,Cell Recovery所花的時間,證明我們系統在註冊功能及Cell Recovery功能不會對系統效能造成負擔。
The information and communication technology has brought human life impressive changes. The internet technology has entered the “cloud age” today; many resources can be put into cloud for further using and exploit. However, current typical cloud (or cluster) storage systems are composed of metadata server(s) and storage server(s). The construction cost of storage cloud is still high and need a lot of management effort of hardware. In this thesis, we proposed a new system architecture using network attach storage (NAS) to replace the storage server in typical cloud storage systems. The use of NAS not only reduces the cost of storage cloud construction but also reduces the management effort of system administrators. In addition, we make two examinations. First, we register different size and number of files and test its wasting time. Second, we test the time of Cell Recovery, when NameNode is failed. From two examination, we prove that the performance of registering and Cell Recovery are not the burden of our system.
