摘要: 本研究以苗栗縣南庄鄉東河村為研究場域,藉由對族群食物「客家粢粑」及「賽夏tinawbon(糯米糕)」的分析,了解客家人與賽夏族間的族群關係,一方面探討食物對人群關係界定和社會類別概念傳遞的作用;另一方面討論人們在運用食物過程中所衍生的日常經驗、具體意象和感官經驗,形成記憶與認同建構的基礎,詮釋食物在族群關係中的位置,並進而形塑族群界線。作為扣連儀式和日常生活的食物,在族際互動中緩和了族群張力、拓展社會關係,也在互動中微妙地維持了族群界線。
This study focuses on the ethnic relations between the Hakka and Saisiat in Donghe through the analysis on the food, Hakka’s “Chi-Ba" and Saisiat’s “Tinawbon”. On the one hand, we explore the food’s role on the classification of people and social categories; on the other hand we try to interpret the food’s engagement in everyday life and the people’s sensual experience. Based on these studies, we attempt to explore the food’s role on the mitigation of the inherit tension between the ethnic groups and the maintenance of their ethnic boundaries.
