摘要: 虛擬雕塑系統的架構與設計學生 : 姚宗亮 指導教授 : 莊榮宏 博士國立交通大學資訊工程研究所摘 要電腦雕塑系統是一 個很好的輔助設計工具,而結合虛擬實境的技術更可以讓使用者以較直覺 的方式在三維空間操作。本論文介紹一個結合虛擬實境週邊設備的電腦雕 塑系統-虛擬雕塑系統,並且討論一個虛擬雕塑系統應該具備的架構,同 時嘗試設計一個虛擬雕塑系統。在這個系統中,空間中的物體及工具都是 以容積 (Volume) 的資料形態表示,以類似Marching cubes[29] 的方式 轉換為表面資訊呈現給使用者。操作介面採用可以偵測到三維的位移及旋 轉量的空間球作為輸入設備,配上符合準立體標準的螢幕及立體眼鏡,以 立體顯像的方式來構成虛擬物體。而模擬工具操作的處理,則結合了資料 結構、碰撞檢測、輸出入設備和工具的演算法,提供使用者一些工具來建 構模型。另外系統也採取了hash grid[28] 的方法來加速反應使用者操作 結果的顯像。目前已完成部份模組,而系統並未全部完成。 The Structure and Design of Virtual Sculpting SystemsStudent: Tzong-Liang Yau Advisor: Dr. Jung-Hong ChuangInstitute of Computer Science and Information EngineeringNational Chiao-Tung UniversityABSTRACTComputer sculpting system is a good design tool for designers. Together with virtual reality techniques, the computer sculpting system provides designers with an even better way to manipulate objects in 3D space. This thesis introduces a sculpting system that combines visualization and virtual reality techniques. The components of this system is also described. In this system, objects and tools are represented as volume data which are rendered using methods that are similar to Marching cubes algorithm[29]. TheSpaceball is used as an input device to detect 3D translations and rotations resulting from user*s input. Moreover, stereo monitor and stereo glasses are used to see the stereo mode of the display. The hash grid technique[28] is used to decrease the response time of operations that usually affect the displayed image only locally. Some components of the system have been implemented. However, the system is not working due to the incomplete implementation on collision detection between objects and tools.
