藉由目錄服務概念的引入,以原本DNS(Domain Name System)的概念為基礎,利用LDAP(Lightweight Directory Access Protocol)技術建構PICS標籤伺服器(Label Bureau),提供分級資訊在存取與管理的優勢。 在本篇論文中,我們提出分級服務的架構,稱之為LDRS(LDAP-based Distributed Rating Service),解決了建構標籤伺服器時,分級資訊在儲存、效能與整合上所面臨的問題。
On Internet today, surfing through WWW is very popular. However, much inappropriate information is transferred through Internet, so is useless information. PICS (Platform for Internet Content Selection) provides a systematic and complete architecture for Internet content rating system that includes methods for generating and distributing rating labels. But for distributing PICS rating labels, some issues about label bureau constructing should be solved. The directory service, which can provide functionality of distributed hierarchical data distribution, is adopted to solve these issues. In this thesis, we propose an LDAP-based rating service, named LDRS (LDAP-based Distributed Rating Service), which combines the advantages of LDAP (Lightweight Directory Access Protocol) to solve the issues faced as building a rating information distribution mechanism and construct a distributed environment for rating service. Finally, in order to evaluate the performance of LDRS, an enhanced proxy being further integrated with the functionality of LDRS is designed and implemented.
