dc.description.abstractInk-jet printing was used to prepare a single-substrate multicolor cholesteric liquid-crystal (Ch-LC) display incorporating three Ch-LCs exhibiting different reflective wavelengths. A room-temperature low-vacuum chemical-vapor-deposition process was developed for coating a thin polymer film onto the Ch-LC so that the top electrode could be coated onto the Ch-LC layer. Herein, the successful operation of such a 10.4-in. QVGA Ch-LC display at 40 V will be described.en_US
