In recent years, Facebook is developing fast; it takes people’s relationship in the physical world to the internet. Now Facebook becomes a popular social tool. Compared to the Blog or Plurk that we used to use in the past, they all have the function of “leave message”and”reply the message” to let friends communicate with each other. However, in Facebook, there exists the function of automatic relationship disclosure. I think that when user sees too much automatic relationship disclosure, they might feel negative emotions and loneliness because of some social psychological effects such as social comparison and over expectation of feedbacks. In addition to analyzing questionnaire to understand the user behavior in Facebook, I also collect user activities on Facebook such as the number of messages and pictures users post. I found that social comparison is a significant factor that causes negative emotions and loneliness. Furthermore, the study found that the users who have interaction with friends as the primary motivation give their feedback more often, but also have higher negative emotions.
