以蠟為材料之實驗性設計創作

Abstract

蠟曾是出現在昔往社會的必需品，但曾幾何時已經漸漸從我們周遭消失， 其實蠟不一定是脆弱，黏膩的工業材質，只要透過不同的思維與角度去看待材質， 也可以成為擁有像塑膠的特性，陶瓷的質感與美感的材料。本研究以假設的觀點出發，發展蠟材應用於生活用品的可能性。透過執行實驗性設計的流程與方法，追求手感的理念發想數種表現手法與意象，研究摸索蠟材的優點與特性，最後從中選取適合的表現手法，進行產品創作。本次創作除了希望藉由轉化蠟至另一種姿態重現使用者的生活當中，也期許提供未來設計師一個不同於以往的材質運用。

Wax was the daily necessary in the past , but it gradually fades out in our life now.However, wax does not always be fragile or greasy industrial material, but change to be useful as the plastic or be featured of fine and smooth texture as ceramic by the different aspect to view this material.

The research is focused on supposition that wax can be reappeared in product design through the concepts and methods of Experimental Design and the spirit of Wabisabi, from Japan. In the initial stage of research, researcher tried to analyzing the characteristic of wax ,and then developing the performance and texture of wax with composite materials . Finally , choosing the suitable expressions to apply in product design.

Researcher hopes that wax can be transferred to another style in the users? life, and express the aesthetic of wax. Moreover, hope to provide an application of a new material for the designers in future.
