設計媒材與風格的關聯研究

Abstract

隨著設計媒材演進，電腦的出現使得建築呈現方式產生重大變化，設計者得以不受限於傳統媒材，發展過去所無法操作掌握的形體，新時代的風格似乎正逐漸形成。然而過去對於風格的研究，多未將媒材的使用視為形成因素，而對於媒材的研究，亦少有論及其對風格造成的影響。本文基於前述觀點，以傳統和電腦媒材的在建築領域的比較為例，探討媒材與風格發展的關聯。

方法上共包含三個部份，首先進行案例研究，以提出媒材與風格有關的初步現象，接著進行作品外觀的辨識實驗，以確認使用媒材和風格的關聯，最後則進行設計過程的口語實驗，以探討媒材與風格發展認知行為的互動。研究結果發現了媒材不僅是設計呈現的工具，同時也是風格形成的一項要素，並且對作品的風格特徵和設計認知的互動模式具有普遍性影響。

As design media evolving, the appearance of computer has made great differences in architectural representation, which encourages designers to manipulate forms without limitations from conventional ones. It seems that new period style has been gradually forming. However, on the one hand, in the past studies of style， media were mostly not considered as a factor of style formation. On the other hand, in the studies of media, media inferences on style were also rarely discussed. Followed the former viewpoints, a comparison between conventional and computer media in architecture field was conducted in this paper to probe the correlation between media and style.

The method included three parts. First, a case study was performed to acquire related phenomena. Second, an experiment of design works selected in the fore case study was accomplished to verify the correlation. Third, a protocol analysis of design development was conducted to exploit interactions among cognitions and media underlying design processes. The findings suggest that media serve not only as tools of design representation, but also as factors of style creation in which outcome features and interactions among design cognitions are commonly affected.
