摘要: | 在自動化系統應用的衝擊下,許多工作已被系統取代,在這種情況下,秘書如何在組織中重新找到定位與價值。本研究將探討辦公室自動化系統對秘書工作本身之內容、角色與工作特性的影響。以問卷調查的方式對新竹科學園區秘書進行抽樣調查與收集資料。
研究結果顯示,辦公室自動化系統的使用狀況增加時,對秘書管理性或事務性工作內容也會相對增加。而秘書的工作角色,也會因為自動化使用的狀況增加,使其在組織中「策略夥伴」、「員工鬥士」、「行政專家」與「變革推手」等角色增加。再則,辦公室自動化系統的使用狀況增加,也會增強秘書「自主性」、「回饋性」、「重要性」、「完整性」及「技能多樣性」等工作特性。
根據研究發現,自動化系統的使用,對秘書在工作內容、特質與角色確實產生影響,秘書將因此而可能與組織中人力資源管理師的角色類似,並因為工作的內容增加與工作性質的改變,邁向更專業的領域。 Under the impact that office automation, many jobs in organizations have been changed in their nature. In this study, I examined the effect of office automation on the the content, characteristics, and roles of secretary job. I used questionnaires to collectdata from a sample of secretaries working for the companies in Hsinchu Science-based Industrial Park. The study found that the use of video conference technology in office was related with an increase in the number of operational tasks and management-related tasks performed by secretaries The use of other kind of systems and information processing system technologies in office was related with secretary’s increased role in organizations as a strategic partner, an employee advocate, an administrative expert, and a change agent. Examining the characteristics of secretary job, this study found that the use of individual productive forces system and information processing system technologies in office was associated with an increase in secretary’s skill variety, task identity, task significance, task autonomy, and feedback from job. The findings of this study suggest that the use of automation technologies in office will change the nature of secretary job. Secretaries will become more like a managers after their offices are automated. They will share more responsibilities in human resource management and hence their status in organizations will become more like professional’s. |
