In this project, the promotion and dissemination of the knowledge and technologies of renewable energy systems are accomplished via a series of activities including lectures, DIY, and touring power plants of renewable energy. The renewable energy program including wind power, solar energy, and fuel cell will emphasize on the principles as well as the practicality of renewable energy. The lectures will cover the histories, principles, applications, and future developments of the chosen renewable energy sources. From the lectures, the participants will then have a comprehensive as well as deep understanding of renewable energy. Regarding DIY, the participants will learn how practical solar and wind energy systems work through demonstration and assembling important parts of such systems. The participants will also learn how to make renewable energy systems to power toy cars. Such practical experiences will provide more ideas to the participants to find more applications for renewable energy. Finally, the participants will tour wind and solar power plants in a field trip. They will learn how renewable energy is actually produced in the industry. The participants around 30 ~50 people are junior to senior high school students. They will be benefitted greatly from taking this program, not only having a strong background on renewable energy but also building a good potential for entering into this area in the future. |
