In this study Purpose, TGMD-2 Test was used as a tool to investigate the differences caused by golf between 9- or 10-year-old primary school students in motor development in hopes of understanding the efficiency brought by golf in gross motor development. Methods, The study objects were 41 9- or 10-year-old primary school students who were divided into two groups, respectively the experimental group (golf group) and the control group. The 20 students in the golf group had a golf class at a particular time every week whereas the 21 students in the control group did not have any particular sport class in this study. The experiment took 14 weeks, and pre-test and post-test were respectively conducted. The data were converted into scores, and SPSS 12.0 was employed to conduct a paired sample t-test analysis, in which significance was reached when p=.05. The research result showed that the gross motor capability of the students in the golf group was excellent, and in each test item of gross motor capability, their post-test results were all better than the pre-test results and reached significance. Finally, the pre-test and post-test results of the golf and control groups were compared, and it was found that the averages of the mobile and operational skills of the golf group were higher than those of the control group in the post-test. In addition, the two groups both reached significance in terms of operational skills in the pre-test as well as mobile and operational skills in the post-test. According to the research conclusion, regularly having golf classes is positively helpful for the physical development and motion performance of 9- or 10-year-old primary school students.
