It was highly uncertain in product design and development process. It is definitely necessary to listen to the voices of consumers and to assess the marketability of the product, in order to make the successful commercialization and improve the competitiveness of products. Consumer demand, design, development and quality management are indispensable for the product development process; each one of them could be a key input for the setting of appropriate design specifications for the new product or service. It will be more effective in integrating them well. This study attempts to develop a suitable model for product development by combining consumer demand, product innovative design, plans and parameters selection, and commercialization, to meet consumer needs and enhancing the efficiency of product development. This study first divides consumer demand into voices of internal consumers and external consumers. Voices of internal consumers are business objectives, resources, business models, technology levels and so on. Voices of external consumers are the customer needs. Moreover, this study applies the TRIZ tools in problem solving process, such as ARIZ, Substance-Field analysis, and 40 Principles. And then use the ANP and Taguchi method in optimal plan selection and parameter optimization simulations as the final step. This study establishes a product development model which can improve efficiency of the product development process by real cases. |
