摘要: 在此論文中,提出一種新的方式以控制高速超扭轉陣列液晶顯示器,此種方 式稱為主動尋址,主動尋址方式可以達成高對比度,高亮度,且同時能保有 相當好的解析度。首先先做此方法之數學模式推導作為其理論的基礎 ,接 著由程式的結果証明主動尋址確實可以改善傳統多工尋址方式的缺點 ,此 外還詳細描述了針對具有255列及256行的液晶顯式面板控制電路之硬體架 構。此電路的優位點為全數位化,使得設計電路能夠簡化。在佈局方面,此 晶片使用0.8微米之製程技術,晶片面積約為6100微米乘6400微米,同時為 了符合實際的要求,最低的工作頻率為3.932MHz。電晶體總數約為 37萬個 。 In this thesis a new method called active addressing for driving fast STN-LCD is presented. Active addressing makes possible high contrast, high brightness, and is without loss of resolution. Mathematical descriptions are discussed first to derive the theory of active addressing. A computer simulation program is also developed to verify this new method indeed reduces frame response of fast STN-LCD. In addition, a hardware implementation focused on LCD panel with 255rows and 256 columns is discussed in detail. The advantage of this circuit is that it is fully digital, thus simplifies the design task. The TSMC 0.8um single poly double metal(SPDM) fabricated technology is used. The total size of this chip is about 6100um*6400um. The minimum required operating frequency is 3.932MHz. The total transistor count is about 370 thousands.
