dc.description.abstract本研究以指紋辨識技術為探討的課題,從技術的角度、配合環境的需要來
看指紋辨識技術的發展趨勢。本研究分析指紋辨識技術在電子認證、身份
辨識之應用與市場潛力,並以近十三年來指紋辨識技術專利資料為基礎,
分析指紋辨識技術的專利競爭狀況與世界各國廠商在此領域投入發展的狀
況。由專利分析得知指紋辨識技術已處於成熟期,而市場尚處於成長階段
。本研究建議政府與資訊產業界重視資訊化時代指紋辨識造成的電子認證
功能﹐宜即早擬訂因應的策略以搶占先機。
The purpose of this research was to investigate the
development trend offingerprint identification technology
from the viewpoints of technicalcapabilities, social -
economic environments, application areas and marketdemands.
Special emphasis was on its applicability towards
electronicauthentication. Other than monitoring literature, this
research collected 219U.S. patents awarded between 1975 - 1996
to fingerprint identification relatedinnovations. The
technological and business competition among those
companiesaround the world were derived from analyzing
these patents. The patentanalysis revealed the fact that the
fingerprint identification technology hasbecome mature,
however, the market demand is still at the early stage.
Fingerprint identification shall play an essential role
with respect toelectronic authentication in the information
era. Taiwan's government and PCindustry should exert a
concerted effort to better prepare and position forthe enormous
market of integration of fingerprint identification device
intothe computing/networking systems.
