摘要: 無線區域網路產業從1999年美國電機電子協會公布802.11b 至今已超過十年的時間,從演進的歷程來看,無線區域網路IC設計公司扮演著產品演進的主要推手。整個無線區域網路的市場及技術演進相當的快,這些演進主要是從客戶的需求或技術的進步所驅動,例如頻寬的需求以及應用的改變。2010年蘋果電腦公司推出了iPad產品形成了風潮,改變了使用者對電腦及存取網路的方式。同一段時間,Google 也推出了Google TV ,建構了新電視媒體的生態系統。這些應用中,無線區域網路扮演一個重要的角色。這些應用需要無線區域網路IC 以不同的產品及市場型態出現,因此競爭的形態也就跟著改變。如何在新市場勝出,這就考驗各家無線區域網路IC設計公司的能力及策略。藉由現有市場的能力需求,IC設計廠商的能力可歸納出與廠商在各市場的市占率,再推演出新應用的競爭力以及建議最佳的整併策略
The wireless LAN industrial has been developed for more then 10 years. The history shown IC design companies domoniate the technology trend. The marketing of WLAN was changing very fast that casued by technology improvement or user scenario changed. Basically, these changing were driven by the demand of satisification for the end user requirement such as bandwidth demand or internet application. In 2010, Apple announced iPad and Google announce Google TV, along with the popular application of smart phone. Those are driving force for WLAN market changing. Wifi is an important component in the new application. So those IC design companies faced the challenage of new market and shrinking of legacy market. How to build up capabilities which can satisify for customer’s need is an important topic for every WLAN IC design companies. The theseis is trying to build a model for how derive the market share by analysis the capability of each company and market’requirement. The thesis will derive forcast the market sharing in upcoming new market and give suggestion to get the best combination of companies to build a stong competition for new market.
