Abstract: Kansei Engineering is an ergonomic technology for translating
human feelings into a product design. There are three types of
Kansei Engineering procedure. Type I is the category
classification. Type II uses the computer system to transfer the
customers' image to the design details. Type III utilizes a
mathematical model to reason the ergonomic design. This study
presents a procedure to execute Kansei Engineering based on Type
II. The proposed procedure involves the following steps: define
the main theme, accumulate theme-related information, extract
the representative product smaple, proceed with Kansei
evaluation expreiment, extract the representative Kansei words,
and establish the relationships between design elements and
Kansei words. In addtion, the glass frame is utilized to
demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed procedure.
Implematation results demontrate that each glass frame composes
different psychology feelings and similarities among the glass
samples.
