Architecture is an event recorder, recording the history from when it begins till its most recent day and eventually turning into an accumulation of memory. It is similar to the black box used in aviation so as to the investigate aftermath. The way an architecture performs could reflect the movement or change of culture, economics, politics or technology at the time people live in. Hence, an architecture design standing is not caused by single matter, nor an individual fantasy. Instead, it is a consequence neutralizing different contrasts and contradictions. Architectural theory and practice never stop evolving and must move with times because it helps to create the times. As living in the contemporary age, we should not stay on looking back, but take advantage of those happened events as a solid foundation to criticize our environment and provide new visions for our society. In other words, design is the understanding the past, which is the power and made of a designer’s vision. To sum up, I see every project as an event recorders from which those critical elements would be extracted and reconstructed. Then, they are given a new life as an architecture.
