摘要: | 于设计新一代的无线通讯系统时,设计者面临到一连串的挑战:标准本身的演进、上市时间、系统维护效率乃至于潜在的多系统整合的需求。也由于效能的需求愈来愈高,跨层(Cross-layer)运作在新一代的通讯系统中,扮演着重要的角色。若要达成诸多不同的设计目标,必须要有一个切合需要的MAC层系统架构。在本文中,我们提出一个模组化的MAC层系统架构与其设计方针。该架构是源自于一个包括有三个平面的概念模型;该架构能使得功能模组被快速地设计出来、系统维护更加简易、跨层通讯更有效率且能适应于将来多系统整合的目标。 In designing novel wireless communications devices, designers are facing a number of challenges such as standard evolution, market timing, system maintenance and even multi-technology integration. Also, as the performance requirement becomes higher, cross-layer operation plays an important role in modern systems. To accomplish various design goals, the MAC layer architecture should be elaborately defined. In this article, we present a modularized MAC architecture and its design guidelines. This architecture is based on a three-plane conceptual model, and enables quick prototyping, easy maintenance, efficient cross-layer signaling and potential multi-technology integration. |
